Bookings For Christmas Masses

Christmas Masses 2020

We welcome you to our Christmas Masses this year. We are very happy and satisfied that all measures are in place to ensure your health and safety when attending, and every precaution is being taken as we come together for the celebration of Mass.

The online booking system, the limited numbers attending, combined with the large space of the Basilica will allow for physical distancing and we thank you for your cooperation.

Please note that available places are limited. If your first choice is fully booked, please be flexible and select another Mass. All bookings must be completed online using the link below.

Please note,  all Masses will take place in Knock Basilica. It is essential that you book a seat in advance. If you do not have a ticket, it will not be possible to attend Mass. Please be sure to adhere to all current physical distancing guidelines as set out at Knock Shrine.  You will need to bring a copy of your online booking, and present it at the entrance to the Basilica before the start of the Mass.

Please read the important notices below for more information regarding guidelines for attending Masses this Christmas.

No. In adherence with current government guidelines, you must book a seat online in advance in order to attend Mass. You will need to bring a printed copy of your online ticket and present it at the entrance to the Basilica before the start of the Mass. We strongly advise that you wear a face covering to protect yourself and others.

Please note tickets are only for the members of the Household that they were booked for and are not transferable to other persons / Households. Due to current circumstances, we regret that those who have not registered online / turn-up without a ticket, will not be able to attend Mass. Also, there is a very strong possibility that late-comers will not be admitted.

In order to book a seat online for Mass, you will need the following information:

1. The number of people you are registering for – e.g. the number in your group (maximum 5 persons per household per group)
2. Name of person making the booking
3. Contact number of the person making the booking
4. Email address of person making the booking

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the Mass time to ensure comfortable access to your seating.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 200 people according to Government and Diocesan guidelines and our physically distanced seating capacity.

To ensure your safety, only groups from the same household* can be seated together. The maximum number for any household grouping is five people. Where possible, household groups, up to a maximum of five people,  will be seated together. However this cannot be guaranteed.  Seating will be allocated to you by our ushers in line with the pre-determined seating arrangements in the Basilica.

* Household: The abode, at which you live in currently, and share with the other members of your Household who also live there.

No. However, booking online in advance for a specific Mass will ensure that a seat will be available for each registered person. Seating is allocated according to the pre-determined seating arrangements in the Basilica.

Children are very welcome. However movement around the chapels during mass will not be possible due to the physical distancing requirements, and children must be with and supervised by an adult(s) at all times. A separate ticket will have to be registered for each child, including those arriving in buggies. We regret that a child cannot remain in their buggy during mass and must sit beside their parents in their designated seats. The buggy, unoccupied,  can be placed at the end of each row of seats in the aisle.

There is a designated number of seats at each Mass for wheelchair users. Wheelchair users must register online in advance. You can do so by selecting the appropriate ticket type. This registration also includes a carer. Please note that if you are a wheelchair user attending without a carer, you must still book a wheelchair ticket for two persons.

Communion will be available and the celebrating Priest will advise at each Mass how to receive the Holy Sacrament.

You may do so at the outdoor candelabra beside the Parish Church. Physical distancing/queuing measures will be in place. Indoor candelabras will not be operational.

Please have your ticket ready to present upon entry and follow the instructions of volunteers and stewards who will advise you as to your seating area. You will need to queue adhering to physical distancing guidelines. We strongly advise that you wear a face covering at all times to protect yourself and others.

Unfortunately, you must present a ticket at the point of entry. We will not be able to facilitate those without tickets.
