Applications are now open for those who wish to participate in an exciting new Youth Youth Leadership Training Programme at Knock Shrine. Now, more than ever before, young people are hungry for mentors who will journey with them as they explore their questions around faith and spirituality. Could that be you? Could you provide support systems and guidance for young people to explore and deepen their faith? The answer is YES!
This new Youth Leadership programme aims to train passionate leaders. It will enable participants to work with the young people in their parish. You will learn to engage with them and walk with them as they deepen their faith. The programme is open to young people aged 18 years and over. It involves 9 weekends over a 2-year period. Training will take place at Knock Shrine. Participants will be awarded a Certificate in Youth Ministry from Queen’s University, Belfast upon completion of the course.
This new programme aims to provide young adults with the opportunity to become passionate and enthusiastic pillars within their communities and to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to inspire the next generation within their parish. Pope Francis has highlighted the need for young people to pave the way forward for other young people in terms of their faith.
This new programme will be co-ordinated by the team at Knock Youth Ministry. The Youth Ministry team in Knock seeks to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to make known the Good News of Christ more fully through worship, service and witness. They aim to give the young people who visit Knock Shrine a positive experience of Knock and more importantly a personal encounter with God. They do this by celebrating the Sacraments, preaching the Gospel, and by giving witness to the living presence of Jesus in our world.
The programme will commence on May 16th 2020 at Knock Shrine. Download an application form here.
