Celebrating Funerals is the fruit of all this work. It offers 26 funeral services, each on a specific theme – half of them written to refer to the phase of life at which a person died. The book also includes four Remembrance Liturgies, as well as four Rites of Committal, 12 Prayer Services, and 16 Reflections, many of which did not appear in the earlier work. Everything in Celebrating Funerals is designed to address both the challenge of celebrating every funeral in a way appropriate to the life of the deceased, and the opportunity for proclaiming the mercy of God whose love is eternal and who remembers that we are only human.
