Celebrating ‘Corpus Christi’ At Home

On Sunday next, June 14th, we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi –  The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. This year, we invite to set up your own simple altar in the doorway of  your home – facing outwards as a prayer for the world during the Corona Virus pandemic. You might like to place a holy picture or statue on a small table along with some fresh flowers and a candle. Benediction will take place after Mass at 12pm and 3pm on Sunday next and Mass will be streamed live on our website www.knockshrine.ie.

Traditionally altars are set up in the doorways of homes in towns and villages as the Blessed Sacrament makes its way through the streets on the feast of Corpus Christi. While this procession cannot take place in its usual fashion this year, we invite you to participate in the celebrations from the safety of home.
