Youth Programmes at Knock Shrine

The Youth Ministry Team at Our Lady’s Shrine in Knock aims to bring young people to the Shrine and facilitate them on their faith journey.

A positive experience

The Youth Ministry team in Knock seeks to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to make known the Good News of Christ more fully through worship, service and witness. They aim to give the young people who visit Knock Shrine a positive experience of Knock and more importantly a personal encounter with God. They do this by celebrating the Sacraments, preaching the Gospel, and by giving witness to the living presence of Jesus in our world.

The Youth Ministry team runs programmes throughout the year. From September to May they facilitate school retreats and in July, they open the door of The HUB.

Youth Leadership Programme

More than ever before, young people are hungry for mentors who will journey with them as they explore their questions around faith and spirituality. Could that be you? Could you provide support systems and guidance for young people to explore and deepen their faith? The answer is YES! This new programme aims to train leaders and enable participants to work with the young people in their parish, engage with them and walk with them as they deepen their faith. It is open to young people aged between 18 and 30 years and involves 9 weekends over a 2-year period. Participants will be awarded a certificate in Youth Ministry from Queen’s University, Belfast upon completion of the course.
