Spring Summer Events at Knock

Faith Renewal Events

The Spring/Summer 2019 series of faith renewal events at Knock  begins in February and offers a variety of events based on  music, family, parish enrichment and spiritual retreats.

These events are aimed at adults and include a series of one-day retreats and workshops to encourage prayer, deepening of faith and spiritual rejuvenation.

‘Quiet Days for Busy People’ Day Retreats

Take time out  for yourself and join us for a day of quiet prayer and reflection to nourish your heart and soul in the light of the Good News. Come away feeling refreshed, having taken time to reflect on your life and listen to the Word of God.

This Spring, we offer you three Day retreats with engaging and inspirational facilitators. You can also take the opportunity for some  some one to one conversations with one of our Prayer guides to gain a deeper awareness of God’s presence with us always.

Saturday 23rd February :         ‘A Day of the Lord’s Favour’

‘Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest’ Matt.11:28

Allow this Saturday to be a Day of the Lord’s Favour.

A time to rest awhile, to put to rest all that is out of kilter in your life, to realize that the Lord delights in you and to experience deep peace.  Sr. Madeleine Fitzpatrick  has spent many years accompanying people on their journey   through the ups and down of their daily lives. They begin to see with new eyes that their extraordinary, non- judgemental and loving God is with them every step of the way and so their relationship with God, self and others flourishes.

Time:  10.30am-4pm

Venue: Taizé Room, Prayer Centre

Facilitated by: Sr Madeleine Fitzpatrick RSHM

Cost: €30 which includes lunch in Knock House Hotel

Saturday 30th March:         ‘She has done what she could….’

‘She has done what she could: she has anointed my body beforehand for its burial ’(Mk 14:8)

It is such a comfort to hear that we have done all we could in a difficult situation. We are invited to listen, explore, pray and enter more deeply into the mystery of the Passion Narrative as revealed through the anointing of Jesus by a nameless woman. This will be done through guided meditation, input, quiet time and ritual. There will also be an opportunity of a one to one conversation with one of the Prayer Guides to facilitate the process further and enable the graces of the day to translate into ordinary living.

Facilitator:  Sr. Moya Hegarty OSU

Location: Taizé Room, Prayer Centre

Time: 10.30am to 4pm

Cost €30 (including lunch at Knock House Hotel)

Saturday 27th April:             ‘Finding God in the Mess’

In the busyness and messiness of life we can often get the feeling of being disconnected from ourselves and even from God, as if God could only be with us if, and when, we straighten everything out. However, the good news is that God is with us in the mess and we can adopt principles of living that enable us to find God in the mess. To explore this further, join us in Knock for a day of quiet reflection. With guided meditation, time to listen and reflect.Take the opportunity of a one to one conversation with one of our Prayer Guides to gain a deeper awareness of God’s presence with us always.

Facilitated by Jim Deeds

Location: Taizé Room, Prayer Centre

Time: 10.30am to 4pm

Cost €30 (including lunch at Knock House Hotel)

Jesuit Week / Week of Ignatian Spirituality:  28 July – 04 August

‘Your Life, Your Story, Your Pathway to God’

God takes an interest in each one of us, in every life – a personal interest in the ordinary daily realities and in our deepest longings. Each of us has a story to tell and in that story God is present, calling us to listen and learn. Prayer is about listening as well as speaking. It doesn’t do away with the struggles of life, but it helps us to see that the One who created us wants to guide us and to give us courage and a sense of peace. This is what the Jesuit way of prayer is all about.

The team for the week will include terry Howard SJ and Brian Grogan SJ
