Mass for Peace in Ukraine with Archbishop Francis Duffy, Sunday 6th March

This Sunday 6th March is the first Sunday of Lent. During the 12 noon Mass, we will come together as a community of faith to pray for peace in Ukraine and for an end to the war.

Mass will be celebrated by Most Rev Francis Duffy, Archbishop of Tuam. We look forward to welcoming him to Knock Shrine.

The Archbishop will also take a moment to bless the new mural painting of The Last Supper which was completed in late 2021 in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the Basilica.

We invite you all to join us for this special Mass, to pray for peace and to offer a warm welcome to our new Archbishop.

This Mass will take place in the Basilica, and all are welcome to attend.

Those of you who are unable to come to Knock in person may like to join online on our Watch page.

A Prayer for Ukraine

O Lord, God of life, as you care for all creation, give us your peace.
May our security come not from weapons, but from respect.
May our strength come not from violence, but from love.
May our own wealth come not from money, but from sharing.

May our path be not one of ambition, but of justice.
May our victory not be one of revenge, but of forgiveness.
Unarmed and confident, help us to defend the dignity of all creation.
Sharing today and always the bread of solidarity and peace.
Amen.
