Job Title: Youth Ministry Coordinator
Location: Knock Shrine
Youth Ministry at Knock Shrine runs school retreats September to May and runs various summer programmes June-August. Our aim is to bring young people to Knock Shrine, to give them a positive experience of Knock and a powerful encounter with God. The Youth Ministry at Knock Shrine is casual in our atmosphere, relevant in our approach, enthusiastic in spirit, and passionate about our mission. Knock Youth Ministry is currently seeking a Youth Ministry Coordinator to join our team.
We believe this person will be someone who…
- Embraces the vision, beliefs, strategy, and culture of Knock Youth Ministry.
- Hold a degree in Theology or religious studies (relevant experience will be considered).
- Has experience in teaching, group work facilitation, community work, or youth work.
- Has a passion for working with young people and helping them connect with their faith.
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to use technology to reach this generation i.e., Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Must be flexible in working hours and dates.
- Has experience working with young people.
- Has ability in Music Ministry and leading others in music (desirable).
This person will…
- Work as part of the youth ministry team in the day to day running of the youth ministry.
- Plan, present and evaluate retreat days, summer activities, and other faith based events for young people.
- Assist young people in the development of their prayer life.
- Assist with the administrative duties of the youth ministry, including the managing of expenses and budgeting.
- Recognise the dignity and rights of all children/young people and be committed to ensuring their safety and well-being in all dealings and work with young people.
- Complete Child Safeguarding training and ensure that the child safeguarding policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.
- Will work in close collaboration and consultation with other relevant groups and bodies.
- Liaising and communicating effectively with parents and/or guardians of young people, particularly those who are vulnerable and/or under the age of 18.
- Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to the role.
