Sitting in the Presence of God

New outdoor seating has arrived around the grounds at Knock Shrine for you to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Why not allow these ordinary moments become moments of prayer?

As you sit in the midst of God’s beautiful creation allow yourself to rest in his gaze of love for you.

Imagine God speaking your name, welcoming you, inviting you to ‘come away with me to a quiet place, by yourself and rest a while.’ Mark 6:31

We have been told from our earliest days that we are loved by God, but do I really realise this?

God has loved you into being – as it says in Psalm 139:13 ‘He knit you together in your mother’s womb’.

Take some time to sit in God’s presence, knowing that you are loved by God, right now – just as you are.

In Isaiah 43:5 God says, ‘You are precious in my sight, and I love you’.

Notice the thoughts and feelings that rise within you.

Take some time to have a heart-to-heart conversation with God about what you are thinking and feeling today.

Allow yourself to receive God’s response to you – words of healing, of peace and of consolation.
