Facilities at St. John’s Centre

St John’s Rest & Care Centre is located in the grounds of Knock Shrine, nestled between Knock Basilica and the north car park, where most buses and coaches arrive and depart from. Our centre comprises of a large recreational hall area which is ideal for large conferences, workshops and as a general meeting and resting area for visiting pilgrims.

An Ideal Meeting Place  in a Central Location

St John’s Rest and Care Centre boasts a large seating and dining area, where pilgrims can rest, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Knock.  It is advisable (especially for large groups) to book the hall in advance, so that adequate seating can be reserved for your group, especially during the peak season.

Golden Years Day Care for Senior Citizens  from Local Parishes

Golden Years Day Care Group meet every Tuesday and Wednesday in our Centre.  We offer a mini bus service to those who require a lift.   Day Care is ideal for senior citizens who live alone and who would benefit from some good company, and a nourishing meal.  We can accommodate people who have mild mobility issues; however, we do not have any nursing staff working here at the Centre.

We offer tea and a homemade scone on arrival at approximately 10am and our clients enjoy general conversation amongst themselves until 12 noon, when Holy Mass is offered.  Afterwards, a three course meal is cooked and served on site. This is followed by gentle exercises, singing/entertaining/poetry recitation and Bingo.  Occasionally we host art classes or a fun quiz.  Our day concludes at approximately 3 pm.

Our regular clients thoroughly enjoy coming to Day Care and we are delighted that we can offer more people the opportunity to spend time with us. Please contact Geraldine or Sarah on 094 938 8100 Ext 136 for more information.
