Lenten Reflections – Weekly Talks with Guest Speakers
Taking place in St. John’s Welcome Centre, Knock Shrine.

March 7th – Kieran Cronin
‘Laudato Si: St Francis and Prayer for Ecological Conversion.’
Fr Kieran Cronin is a Franciscan friar, currently ministering in the Abbey, Multyfarnham, Co. Westmeath.
March 14th – Jane Mellett
‘Almsgiving: Responding to the Cry of the Earth and the Poor through Care for Creation.’
Jane Mellett is the Laudato Si’ officer with Trocaire and also works with the Laudato Si Movement. Her role involves exploring with church communities how we can respond to the cry of the earth.
March 21st – John Connell
‘Living more simply in a complex world’
John Connell is an award winning and bestselling author, weekly columnist for the Irish Independent and BBC Radio 4’s A point of view. He is also a playwright and farmer and spends his time between writing projects on his farm in county Longford.
On Thursday 16th March, Knock Shrine will host a special concert celebrating Irish music, heritage and culture at Knock Basilica.
The concert will take place at 8.30pm and will include choral pieces, liturgical music, with traditional hymns to St. Patrick, and contemporary sacred pieces by Irish liturgical composers as well as from the Irish secular tradition of poem, song and dance. Performers include Schola Cantorum Basilicae, Knock Youth Choir, traditional local Irish musicians, set dancers and Sean Nós dancers.
Admission is free. All are welcome.
Day Retreat with Deirdre Ní Chinnéide
Taking place in the Prayer Centre, Knock Shrine
Time: 10am – 4pm
Cost: €30
This retreat will weave together an experience to inspire, nourish and prepare us for the Easter message of Hope.
Using scripture, music, prayer and reflective time, Deirdre guides us on a journey of light through darkness, home to the presence and guidance of God in our everyday lives.

A Listening Heart is a Ministry to Priest’s programme presented by Knock Shrine. We understand the demands, pressures and challenges of current pastoral life. We offer space, time and a listening ear to the busy priest. You are welcome for a week, a day or a few hours to find time away to rest, reflect and recover your energy.
