Please Support Knock Shrine

Knock Shrine depends on the generosity of our parishioners, friends and patrons. It is through your generous donations that we aim to preserve this sacred and special Shrine for future generations of pilgrims.

Over the past 10 years, we have made many improvements and investments in the infrastructure of our chapels and grounds. The historic Parish Church, which celebrates its bicentenary in 2028 has been sensitively conserved for future generations. Knock Basilica was constructed in 1976 and has been extensively modernised to provide a warm and welcoming spiritual space for our pilgrims.

We depend on your goodwill and generosity as we seek to maintain and improve the services that we offer to all those who visit Knock Shrine and I am delighted to showcase our new initiatives for this year.

Knock Youth Village

Knock Youth Village provides a dedicated space for young people at Knock Shrine, allowing them the opportunity to immerse themselves in Knock Shrine as they participate in our retreat programmes. Situated in mature grounds, close to Knock Shrine, the new Youth Village offers high quality and comfortable accommodation with self-catering facilities.

This new village is available to young people and offers the Youth Ministry team at the Shrine the scope to further develop our school retreat programme for overnight stays. The village is exclusively available for our VAKS, our young volunteers each weekend over the summer season.

The Youth Ministry team at Knock Shrine offers a vibrant faith centre for school retreats and summer youth programmes. The aim of Knock Youth Ministry is to give young people a positive experience of Knock and a powerful encounter with God

Creation Walk

The new ‘Creation Walk’ at Knock Shrine weaves its way through the meandering pathways that have been newly developed throughout the mature grounds at Knock Shrine. The self-guided prayerful walk consists of 30 stops that explain the evolution of our planet. Along these leafy pathways, there are opportunities to stop and prayerfully reflect on God’s Creation.

This new walk has been created under the guidance of Fr Brian Grogan SJ and is based on his book: “Creation Walk – The Amazing Story Of A Small Blue Planet”. Fr Brian is a former President of Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy, Dublin, and is Emeritus Associate Professor of Spirituality.  He is also co-founder of the Prayer Centre at Knock Shrine.

Basilica Seat Benefactors

The beautifully crafted, bespoke ash wood seating at Knock Basilica was handcrafted in County Leitrim, creates a welcoming and accessible space for pilgrims to share and celebrate the faith together. If you would like to remember a loved one, while supporting our ongoing work at Knock Shrine, you may wish to consider becoming a Basilica Seat Benefactor. Your gift is a lovely way to celebrate the memory of a loved one or to have your family remembered here at Ireland’s International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine.

The names of all benefactors are inscribed on a specially commissioned plaque which is erected in an appropriate location with the Basilica of Our Lady , Queen of Ireland.

Our Lady Of Knock Legacy Programme

Once you have taken care of your loved ones in your Will, leaving a gift to Knock Shrine, large or small, is a meaningful way to support future development. This can help to ensure that Knock Shrine will remain a special place of international pilgrimage and prayer long into the future.
