Youth Programmes at Knock Shrine

The Youth Ministry Team at Knock Shrine aims to bring young people to the Shrine and facilitate them on their faith journey.

New Youth Leadership Programme

More than ever before, young people are hungry for mentors who will journey with them as they explore their questions around faith and spirituality. Could that be you? Could you provide support systems and guidance for young people to explore and deepen their faith? The answer is YES! This new programme aims to train leaders and enable participants to work with the young people in their parish, engage with them and walk with them as they deepen their faith. It is open to young people aged 18 years and over and involves 9 weekends over a 2-year period.  This exciting new programme will begin on Saturday, May 16th 2020. Participants will be awarded a certificate in Youth Ministry from Queen’s University, Belfast upon completion of the course.

A positive experience

The Youth Ministry team in Knock seeks to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to make known the Good News of Christ more fully through worship, service and witness. They aim to give the young people who visit Knock Shrine a positive experience of Knock and more importantly a personal encounter with God. They do this by celebrating the Sacraments, preaching the Gospel, and by giving witness to the living presence of Jesus in our world.

The Youth Ministry team runs programmes throughout the year. From September to May they facilitate school retreats and in July, they open the door of The HUB.

The HUB – Hear, Understand, Believe

The HUB is a vibrant place full of fun, friendship and faith. The HUB offers a kids’ club (for children 5+ years) full of arts and crafts, songs and games all based on the Gospel of the day. It provides a drop-in centre for teens and young adults to pop in for a cuppa and a chat. The HUB also offers a range of summer camps during July and August.
