Mission Statement

To promote emotional, spiritual and mental well being through the provision of professional counselling services to individuals, couples, families and young people aged 12 to 18 years.

Knock Counselling Centre is a community based counselling service provided by Knock Shrine and part funded by the child and family agency, TUSLA and  is a member of the Association for Agency Based Counselling in Ireland.

Counselling is a talking therapy. Any person can avail of the opportunity to attend to emotional or psychological problems in a supportive and confidential therapeutic environment.

Counsellors offer therapeutic support to people experiencing a wide range of difficulties including: Coping with feelings of anxiety, depression or low self esteem; bereavement issues; issues associated with abuse or neglect; relationship issues; any issues impacting on personal growth and development. Counselling can be described as a process that occurs between two or more people over an agreed period of time. It is based on respect and the belief that we all have the resources to live a fulfilling life. Counselling offers you an opportunity to deepen your understanding of personal distress or confusion, make choices or changes to experience relief from difficult feelings and, ultimately, to live in a more satisfying way.

‘Are you losing Control?’  A Six Week Anger Management Programme

Beginning October 6th, Thursday evenings 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Knock Counselling Centre is delivering a six-week anger management programme, starting on October 6th, in conjunction with the Irish Association of Anger Management.

This programme will help participants to:

  • Evaluate their anger and stress levels
  • Learn cutting edge techniques to deal with anger and difficult emotions
  • Manage and express anger effectively

  • Dates: Six consecutive Thursdays, starting on October 6th
  • Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm

‘How are you?’ Emotional Well-Being Course

5-week course commencing on September 27th, facilitated by Lisa-Anne Campbell, Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Tuesday Evening 7pm-8.30pm

Over five weeks we explore how to recognise our feelings, deal with stress, manage changes in our lives more effectively and find our best selves while acknowledging our hearts desires and living more fulfilling and authentic lives. Cost €50

Counselling service for adults

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk about painful and difficult issues in a safe and confidential environment.

Thinking deeply about your situation with the support of a counsellor, who is genuine, non judgmental and empathetic creates the possibility for change and, ultimately, relief from difficult or painful feelings or situations.

People may seek the support of a counselling service for a wide range of issues.

Counselling Services for Young People

(12 to 18 year olds)


Knock Counselling Centre offers counselling and support services for young people aged 12 to 18 years.

The counselling sessions are available at low cost and after school hours appointments are also available.

The services provide a supportive and confidential space for young people to address difficulties or issues they may be facing such as:

  • Issues at home or in school
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Lack of self-confidence
  • Problems with your general feeling or way of being in the world

Drop-in Listening Service

Knock Counselling Centre offers a confidential drop-in listening service at certain times each week.

The drop-in service is available to any person or persons over the age of 18.

There is no set fee for a session at the drop-in listening service. A donation to Knock Counselling Centre is welcome.

The drop-in listening service offers people an opportunity to discuss difficult or challenging life issues in a caring and confidential environment.

People attend single sessions to reflect on and discuss personal issues or concerns.

No appointment is needed to use the drop-in listening service but please telephone Knock Counselling Centre to find out when the drop-in listening service if being offered.

We will never turn anyone away for financial reasons. However, we are a registered charity and we support ourselves from the money you pay for counselling.

Rates for individual and couple counselling

The full fee is €50 per session for individuals.

For those who attend couple counselling, the fee is €60 per session if both parties are in employment.

The reduced fee is €25 per session.

For those who are unwaged or on a minimum wage there are a number of sessions available at €15 per session.

You can discuss your payment with your counsellor at the first session.   It is useful to consider what you can afford and the value you place on yourself, your life and the process of counselling.
