John Paul II Award Volunteers at Knock Shrine

Over the past week, we were delighted to welcome groups of young students from St Louis Community School, Kiltimagh and Mount St Michael’s Claremorris and St Colman’s college. The students have given their time to volunteer at Knock and have been doing a wonderful job of making our pilgrims feel welcome. Over 50 students took part in volunteering throughout the week. Pictured here is a small group with Fr Gerald Doyle after the 12 noon Mass on the Feast of Our Lady of Knock which was celebrated on Tuesday 17 May .

The Pope John Paul II Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the age of 16 and 18.

The Award enables participants to take an active part in the life of their Church, in the life of their community and society. It also enables young people become more aware of the teaching and role of the Catholic Church in the world and to engage at a deep level with Christ.
