Youth Ministry Programmes at Knock Shrine
Knock Youth Ministry strives to give young people a positive experience of Knock and a meaningful encounter with God. We take a friendly and supportive approach, prioritising fun, friendship, and faith.
Our team works closely with each group leader to design a programme tailored to the needs of their group, including timing, workshops, ability, and activities. Whether attending a day retreat, an overnight retreat, or volunteering with our VAKS (Volunteer at Knock Shrine) programme, young people can expect engaging experiences that encourage reflection, open and respectful discussion, and personal growth.
Our goal is that every young person leaves Knock inspired, supported, and enriched in their faith — with memories of friendship, meaningful conversations, and a deeper awareness of God’s presence in their lives.
We offer school retreats from September to May for all secondary school year groups, school chaplaincy teams, Confirmation groups, and parish youth groups.
Our retreats are carefully designed to meet young people where they are in their faith journey. Conversation-based in style, they encourage students to explore their faith in ways they may not have considered before, creating space for reflection, discussion, and personal growth.
Day Retreats: €10 per student
Our overnight retreat programmes allow us to journey more deeply into the conversations of faith begun during a day retreat. These retreats include all the elements of a day retreat, along with additional workshops and extended time for reflection and group engagement.
We also collaborate with other organisations to support students on their journey of faith, including Community Cenacolo and the Carmelite Sisters. These partnerships enrich the experience by offering powerful witness, prayer, and opportunities for meaningful encounter.
Overnight retreat: €69 per student*
This fee includes ensuite accommodation at Knock Youth Village, breakfast and a 2 day schedule of workshops

Approximately 1 million people visit Knock Shrine each year from all over the world. It is a special place of prayer and pilgrimage.
VAKS (Volunteer at Knock Shrine) offers young people aged 16 – 18 the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pilgrims.
Volunteering at Knock is a wonderful way to meet new people, serve others, express your faith, and have fun. It can greatly enrich your own life while positively impacting those you serve.
This programme is also an excellent opportunity to develop skills, share your talents, and receive training in areas such as communication and interpersonal skills .
Cost: €40. This includes accommodation for the weekend at Knock Youth Village, all meals, and a VAKS t-shirt.
Participants must be registered and complete the required training before taking part in the programme.
