Mass for Road Traffic Victims, Sun 21st November

Sunday, 21st November  is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2021.

The 12 noon Mass on this day will be dedicated to road traffic victims and their families.

The Mass will take place in the Basilica and will also be live-streamed here for those joining online.

While road traffic deaths are counted in the year they occur, a family remains bereaved forever. The bereaved are not counted or included in road traffic injury data. Many others remain deeply affected by the loss of a friend, colleague, neighbour or member of the community. The effect on the emergency services, whose work involves facing the consequences of crashes on a daily basis, is also profound. Road traffic injuries leave behind shattered families and communities.

If you would like to remember a loved one at this special Mass, you may place your petitions online and they will be placed on the altar and prayed for during Mass. If you would like to light a candle at Knock Shrine, you may also do this online and our sacristan will light your candle in the outdoor candelabrum at Knock Shrine on your behalf.
