There’s no Planet B – Rising to the challenge of ‘Laudato Si’

Dr. Dermot  Lane

 Dr.  Dermot A Lane was ordained to the priesthood from the Catholic archdiocese of Dublin in 1967 and and subsequently earned a doctorate in theology in Rome. Dr. Lane is widely regarded as one of the foremost theologians in Ireland with a distinguished international profile. He is a former president of the The Mater Dei Institute and served as a member of the DCU Governing Authority from 1999 to 2013. He is the author of a number of publications including ‘Catholic Education in the light of Vatican II and Laudato Si’.







Dr. Lorna Gold

Dr Lorna Gold is Head of Policy and Advocacy in Trócaire, the Irish Catholic Agency for International Development. As the Laudato Sí Project Coordinator , Lorna coordinates their work on climate action within faith communities. She has been leading work to get the Catholic Church in Ireland and globally to divest from fossil fuels. Lorna is also  a  member of the Ministerial Advisory Group for the National Dialogue on Climate Action, a member of the International Commission for an Economy of Communion and an author, commentator and public speaker on community responses to climate change.

The day will conclude with celebration of the Eucharist in Knock Basilica at 3 pm.
