A Celebration of St Brigid at Knock Shrine

On Sunday, February 1st, we will mark the Feast Day of St Brigid here at Knock Shrine.

St Brigid is one of the Patron Saints of Ireland, along with St Patrick and St Columba.

The Flame of St Brigid will travel from Solas Bhríde, Kildare to Knock Shrine for this occassion.

Programme

Saturday, January 31st

Journey of Light- A flame from Solas Bhríde, Kildare will travel to Knock.

This flame will be brought to a number of important historical sites on its journey, with a short prayer service at each.

12pm-3pm: St Brigid’s Cross-making in Knock Museum. This event is open to all, no booking is required, and all materials will be provided.

Sunday, February 1st

11am –  Prayer Service in the Apparition Chapel

12pm– Celebration of the Eucharist in Knock Basilica

Blessing of St Brigid’s Crosses will take place during this ceremony
